Quick Summary — GYMGUYZ
GYMGUYZ Franchise Opportunity
GYMGUYZ Franchise Overview
Josh York always had a passion for fitness, but didn’t exactly know how that passion would manifest. As a high school hockey player, Josh realized he needed to be physically fit to compete on the ice, but he also enjoyed how great it felt to be in shape.
While earning his bachelor’s degree, the future entrepreneur worked part-time as a personal trainer in various gyms throughout Long Island. As with many entrepreneurs, one day everything just clicked. While working at a marketing firm and as a trainer in the evening, Josh would often have clients cancel their session due to legitimate work/family reasons. Why not bring the gym to the clients?
Josh Launched GYMGUYZ in 2007, a mobile and fully equipped gym offering a fully-personalized training regimen. At first, the budding entrepreneur carried out the entire operation at his parent’s dining room table - reaching out to potential clients, providing training services himself, and driving his lone van throughout Long Island, day and night.
In 2010, Josh hired a personal trainer to help train clients and added another three vans the following year. GYMGUYZ is now headquartered in Plainview, New York and hopes to hit the 500 franchise mark within the next five years!
Franchise Success Stories
Josh Grinstead owns GYMGUYZ of Fort Lee, Paramus, and Tenafly, New Jersey.
Josh Grinstead worked for years in higher education running everything from a cosmetology school to a medical school. Although extremely accomplished in sales and business development, Grinstead believed he had plateaued professionally. Seeking a new business that utilized his expertise, Josh came across GYMGUYZ and was initially attracted due to its excellent business model.
As the owner of his own business, Josh appreciates the level of autonomy over his own career and the amazing support from the home office team in Long Island.
The best part of GYMGUYZ for Grinstead is the excitement each day brings: “I haven’t been as excited to wake up everyday and work harder than I ever had before ever… because it’s my baby and I have a proven business model that’s already been proven successful in other locations.
He continued, “The ability to make a difference in people’s lives is tremendously important, that’s always been something that I've been involved in professionally.”
